My work is shaped by a varied life and a lifelong curiosity about how we live in our bodies. I began my career in the British Army before working in support roles with vulnerable adults, experiences that taught me the value of presence, patience and listening beneath the surface.

Over time, the mountains drew me to North Wales, where movement, nature and rhythm became central to my life. Alongside my work as a mountaineering instructor, I trained as a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist, specialising in sports therapy and injury rehabilitation. My professional development has since expanded to include Trauma-Informed Practitioner training, Sacred Somatic Journey® practitioner training, energy work, Tantra practitioner training, and ongoing study in nervous system regulation.

As much as my formal training, my own experiences on the treatment table have shaped the way I work. I’m interested not only in relieving pain but in helping people reconnect with themselves, softening unnecessary tension, supporting the nervous system, and creating the conditions for ease, awareness and healing to emerge.

My approach is grounded, intuitive and client-led, meeting each person where they are, physically, emotionally and energetically. Whether you arrive with long-held aches, persistent pain, stress carried in the body, or simply a sense of feeling disconnected, every session is an invitation to slow down, listen, and come back into relationship with your body.

I believe the body holds incredible wisdom. Sometimes it simply needs the right environment to listen, release and restore.

Simon Edwards holds the BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma in Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy, one of the highest vocational qualifications of its kind in the UK. He trained at The School in Bristol under licence from the Institute for Soft Tissue Therapy (ISRM), pioneers of the UK’s first externally validated sports massage qualification.

Professional learning remains an important part of Simon’s practice. He regularly attends advanced training, workshops and specialist courses, ensuring his knowledge continues to evolve and reflect current best practice in manual therapy, trauma-informed care and holistic bodywork.

My Approach

At Eryri Massage Therapies, I believe every person is unique, and so is every treatment. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, living with persistent pain, carrying the effects of stress, or simply wanting to reconnect with yourself, my approach is always centred around you.

My work combines evidence-informed assessment and treatment with a holistic, trauma-informed understanding of the body. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I take time to understand the whole person, your lifestyle, movement, goals, experiences and what your body may be asking for.

I work with people from all walks of life, including climbers, runners, dancers, performers, office workers, manual workers and those simply seeking a greater sense of ease and wellbeing. Sessions may include sports therapy, injury rehabilitation, restorative massage or Sacred Somatic Journey®, depending on what feels most appropriate for you on the day.

As an active climber and mountain professional, I understand the importance of being able to move well, recover well and continue doing the things you love. Equally, I recognise that healing isn’t always about returning to activity. Sometimes it’s about slowing down, regulating the nervous system, releasing long-held tension and reconnecting with yourself.

Above all, my aim is to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming space where you feel heard, respected and cared for. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, supporting your body’s natural capacity to heal, adapt and restore.

Because treatment isn’t just about relieving pain, it’s about helping you move through life with greater ease, balance and connection.
